Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans Welcomes Interventional Pain Specialist Matthew L. Cutrer, MD, JD

New Orleans, LA — December 10, 2025 — Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans (OANO) announces the addition of Matthew L. Cutrer, MD, JD, an interventional pain medicine physician. His home base will be the practice’s Metairie clinic, which has served patients along the South Shore for two years; he will also see patients at OANO’s historic Uptown location, where the practice has provided orthopedic care to the metro area for more than 75 years.

Dr. Cutrer earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, before also completing an internship in General Surgery and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at LSU New Orleans. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and is board certified in Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Cutrer holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola University College of Law.

Expertise in Minimally Invasive Pain Care, Restoring Mobility, and Reducing Pain

A specialist in minimally invasive procedures, Dr. Cutrer treats acute and chronic pain stemming from a broad range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions across the lifespan. Clinical expertise includes targeted injections, neuromodulation, and other interventional approaches that aim to restore function and reduce pain while minimizing downtime.

“Joining Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans feels like the perfect next chapter for me,” said Dr. Cutrer. “I’m thrilled to continue caring for patients in a community I love. My goal remains simple: offer clear guidance, effective treatment options, and meaningful relief so people can get back to living fully.”

Dr. Cutrer is an active member of several professional societies, including the North American Neuromodulation Society, the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

“Matthew’s subspecialty is a meaningful expansion of services and strengthens the practice’s ability to provide for all of the orthopedic needs of our patients,” said Dr. Kevin Watson, partner at OANO. “He brings deep procedural knowledge and a thoughtful approach to patient care, and his expertise adds important capability to both of our clinic locations.”

Dr. Cutrer will begin seeing patients at the Metairie clinic on December 15. To request an appointment, visit oano.com or call 504-899-6391.
