Dr. Katherine “Katie” Faust, a native of New Orleans, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon. Her career has been defined by an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional specialized care to both adult and pediatric patients in the greater New Orleans area.
Dr. Faust embarked on her medical journey following her academic pursuits at St. Mary’s Dominican High School and Loyola University, culminating in her Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She furthered her expertise through an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Tulane University School of Medicine, setting the stage for subsequent fellowships that shaped her proficiency—a Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery Fellowship at Duke University and a Pediatric Hand Fellowship at The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia in Atlanta.
She has been practicing in New Orleans ever since, working with her father, Donald C. Faust, MD, who is also a hand surgeon. She focuses on providing her patients evidence-based treatments and incorporates each individual’s unique needs in their care. She works closely with certified hand therapists and occupational therapists to optimize outcomes.
